GO on God's mission with a Gospel Community

Sunday worship gatherings are good and essential, but they aren't enough to be the kind of community God has called us to be. Gospel Communities are how we go deeper with Jesus and each other and how we engage in his mission and purpose for us. And we do it together.

While the focus of Sunday worship is to GATHER as a church family for worship, the focus of Gospel Communities is to GO on God's mission together. They do this by planning how they will engage in our Community Practices:

  • Believing the Gospel
  • Living as Family
  • Loving as Servants
  • Going as Messengers
  • Relying on the Holy Spirit

With the gospel at its center, a Gospel Community lives out their identity as a family of servant messengers as they orient themselves toward showing and telling the gospel to a specific pocket of people in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Gospel Communities typically have a particular pocket of people among whom they are seeking to show and tell the good news about Jesus. Some examples of pockets of people are neighborhood(s), a nursing home, schools. Depending on the week or season, a Gospel Community will be doing different activites. Sometimes a Bible study will be taking place. Other times the focus will be on hanging out and inviting others. Sometimes the focus will be serving together somewhere. It just depends.
