Luke: To Seek and To Save

Who is Jesus? What was he all about? Jesus summarizes his mission and purpose in Luke 19:10: “the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” He also said, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance” (Luke 5:31). Jesus’ entire mission is about seeking the lost and calling them to repentance so that they may be found. In doing so, he shows God’s heart toward the those sick with sin. Luke's goal in writing this account of the good news was so that those who have surrendered to Jesus may be certain about what they've been taught (Luke 1:4). When there are so many other views about Jesus in the world today, we too may turn to this book to see who Jesus really is.
