Final Words for Following Jesus

Before his death and resurrection (John 18-21), Jesus knew he needed to prepare his disciples. They had been connected with him through his physical presence, but in his final conversation with them (John 13-17) Jesus wanted to prepare them for what was about to happen, help them understand the meaning of it, and teach them how they can remain connected with him afterwards. In order to remain connected with him, they needed to commit to him and he would send the Holy Spirit to them. Like them, we can be connected to Jesus through committing to him and receiving the Holy Spirit.
