What is Good News Church all about?
Well, you don't have to look any further than our name: we are all about the good news of Jesus. He came with the good news of God's kingdom coming to earth with himself as the King of that kingdom. Jesus died to free us from the penalty of rejecting God's kingship so that we can be forgiven and received back into his kingdom. The crown in our logo represents King Jesus at the center with us gathered around him as our Lord.
Our mission is to surrender all of life to Jesus and invite others to do the same. We do this by engaging in our Community Practices: Believing the Gospel, Living as Family, Loving as Servants, Going as Messengers, and Relying on the Spirit. Through this, we will fulfill our vision: to show and tell the good news about Jesus to every man, woman, and child in the Woodstock area.
There are three primary discipleship environments where we live this out:
- We GATHER with our church family for Worship Gatherings.
- We GO on God’s mission with a Gospel Community.
- We GROW in our knowledge and love of God in a Gospel Fluency Group.
These form the "ecosystem" of our church life.
Good News Church is part of the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA), an association of autonomous churches united around the same theological convictions.
