Sunday October 18 - our worship gathering will be INDOORS at 1039 Lake Ave (the Dorr Township Community Room across from Nikos on Lake Ave). We will be wearing masks the whole time we are indoors and seating is spaced at least six feet apart. Chairs are set up in pods of two. Choose your spot then add chairs as many as you need.

Meet our leaders

Mitchel Kirchmeyer - Lead Pastor

Mitch-headshot-750x1000Mitch has been married to his wonderful wife, Katie, since 2011.  They enjoy playing board games, hiking, camping, and reading books together.  Mitch and Katie were involved in a college ministry called Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ) both as students and then for two years after college as full time campus ministry interns.  During their time with Cru, they gained a passion for helping others follow Jesus and for introducing people to Jesus for the first time.  Mitch received his Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.  After graduating in 2015, Mitch was trained in church planting (starting new churches) through a residency with Reach Chicago.  They moved to Woodstock, IL in the summer of 2015 with three others to start Good News Church.

Oversight Team

As the church gets established, a team of pastors/elders from other EFCA churches are helping guide Good News Church.  They pray for Mitch and the church, give financial oversight, and give guiding advice.  Currently, the members of the oversight team are:
